Where Cables Belong To.
Year/2020For this project with MUJI, I designed a light weight furniture with their style of design development based on research into real-life situations. I saw extension cords lying randomly next to the beds in almost every house that I visited. I realized that the problem is the lack of specific place to put cables, so I decided to make a place where cables belong. This side table provides easy access to cables as well as a place to hide them.
By using together with the magnetic cable system by MUJI, you can hide the wires while still access the plug easily. I also focused on the production point of view, such as overall weight, cost and durability. The table top is hand screwed so that it fits into a compact package.
